Secure IP Copilot for Microsoft 365
Highlights
The Client
A European innovation and engineering organization managing large volumes of technical invention materials, internal reviews, and documentation workflows. Teams needed a secure AI-powered system that could structure invention submissions, simplify document analysis, and keep all processing inside the company’s Microsoft ecosystem.

Product/Service
The IP Copilot for Microsoft 365 is an enterprise AI assistant designed to streamline invention documentation, technical analysis, and internal innovation workflows inside a secure Microsoft environment.
The platform helps teams:
The solution was built to reduce manual coordination, improve process consistency, and simplify innovation management across internal teams while maintaining secure document handling and structured collaboration workflows inside the client’s Microsoft ecosystem.
Goals & Objectives
The client needed to modernize internal invention disclosure and technical review workflows while maintaining strict security and compliance requirements. The primary goal was to reduce manual document handling, improve collaboration between departments, and create a scalable process for managing growing volumes of technical submissions.
Project Challenges
▪ No standardized invention submission flow, requiring teams to process documents manually across multiple formats and communication channels.
▪ Security and compliance requirements prevented the use of external AI tools, cloud processing environments, and uncontrolled data-sharing workflows.
▪ Technical reviews depended heavily on engineers, researchers, and legal teams coordinating documentation manually across internal innovation processes.
Solution
AltheraCode developed a secure enterprise IP Copilot integrated directly into the client’s Microsoft 365 environment. The solution combined Microsoft Copilot Studio, Azure OpenAI, Power Automate, SharePoint, and Azure Functions into a centralized workflow automation ecosystem.
The implementation enabled automated analysis of uploaded technical documents, guided invention disclosure workflows, AI-assisted summarization, and structured internal collaboration between engineering, research, and legal teams. All data processing remained fully internal within the organization’s Azure tenant to support enterprise-grade security and compliance requirements.
Special attention was given to workflow orchestration, secure architecture design, and controlled document handling to ensure reliable operation in a high-sensitivity enterprise environment.
Our Results
The implementation improved the speed, consistency, and security of invention documentation workflows across the organization. Key outcomes included:
A fragmented invention management process was transformed into a secure, AI-assisted workflow that improved collaboration, accelerated technical reviews, and reduced operational overhead across departments.
